Douglas McCrea

Douglas is based in Glasgow at McCrea Financial Services who became part of One Four Nine Group in February 2023. He founded McCrea in April 1999, creating a “people business” that places great emphasis on having great staff whose priority is to look after their clients. Over the years the clients of the business know we are always placing them first providing advice in a friendly and professional way that makes them feel well looked after.

Having been an Independent Financial Adviser since 1991, Douglas has enjoyed helping his clients for over 30 years. He has been on the advisory board at Glasgow Warriors since 2008 and is a regular supporter home and away at their games. McCrea have had links with both the Warriors and Partick Thistle for many years being one of the main sponsors at both clubs.

Douglas is passionate about charitable causes and became an Ambassador for the Beatson Cancer Charity in 2022 having previously been on the board of St Margaret of Scotland Hospice for 8 years. For the last 14 years, Douglas has completed his Annual Charity Walks which has included climbing up the three peaks – Snowdonia, Scaffel Pike and Ben Nevis – in order to raise funds for the McCrea Financial Services charity partners. His charity endeavours haven’t been limited to walks however, having thrown himself out of a plane during a Skydive which for someone who doesn’t like heights was quite an achievement.
